Dispatch of the Japan Disaster Relief Rescue Team in response to the damages caused by the earthquake in the Republic of Turkey

On February 6, following a request from the Turkish government, the Japanese government decided to send the Japan Disaster Relief (JDR) Rescue Team to Turkey to assist in search and rescue efforts after the earthquake. The team is scheduled to leave for Turkey on the night of February 6.

In response to the Turkish government’s request, and considering both humanitarian concerns and the strong ties of friendship between Japan and Turkey, Japan has decided to offer this emergency assistance to support Turkey’s humanitarian needs.
